It's nice to be remembered

So hubby and I don't buy each other birthday presents, or Christmas presents, or go out to dinners for special occasions, we really don't feel like doing that anymore. To me to get dressed up to go out at 7 pm, when I rather get into my pj's and hubby pretty well the same, well like I said we don't celebrate anything except putting up Christmas decorations and a tree at Christmas. However, on saying that, I did get a nice surprise when hubby gave me an anniversary card and it had a cute little saying and then inside the card, the cartoon husband's hands (it's a pop-up card) wrap around the wife's butt and it says, " I don't tell you enough honey, but nice butt! "

Good grief, I can't remember when we both remembered our anniversary. Anyways, it's been 34 years since we eloped to Las Vegas.

Yes indeed, a happy anniversary. Gift giving and going out, it's horses for courses. We are the exact opposite, could be that getting dressed up comes from a lifetime of ballroom dancing, that and the fact they my wife is such a talent on a sewing machine. Most of our wardrobe of clothes, she made.
Gift giving, we try to be practical. I buy her favourite fragrances and stuff a wad of cash inside her greeting card. When I first gave her money it was accompanied by a well thought out note. In that note I told her that it wasn't simply a lazy gesture and that I couldn't be bothered to shop. Having the money to buy what she wanted meant a gift never sat in a cupboard collecting dust. I added a postscript saying that if there was nothing that caught her eye at present, she could always share her gift with the less well off. The lady loved that idea and has given much to various charities over the years.
