It's not long now for the old year's exit.

Evidently this person who designed this must not live across any section
of the US above the Mason-Dixon line. I do agree with the sentiment though.

this is a fact... and it's unlucky to allow a female over the doorstep on the first day of new year...so... at minutes to midnight on New years eve..one of my brothers or one of my uncles would go out the back door, and at precisely when the bells had struck 12 they would knock on the front door with a piece of coal, a glass of whisky and a piece of shortbread or black bun... to bring prosperity into the household for the New year. This tradition is called First footing. The first person over the footstep in the new year!

I usually watch The Sydney Fireworks first, that's always a spectacualr show... and god love those Sydney folks this new year .. after their recent tragedies..

Then I'll watch the London Fireworks from home at Midnight. I haven't been into central London for the fireworks since I was in my 20's... it 's totally manic, and mostly you're freezing standing waiting for hours for it to start, so I stay home and get the best view from my chair...

Happy new Year to all my friends on the forum and to @Matrix.... wishing you all a much better year to come...

I hate New Years eve. But then I never did understand extroverts and what they find so engaging about parties.

The only difference between one year and the next are policy changes in business and government...oh and an increase in prices...YAY!!!!
