I've been invited for my fifth jab

I am getting the double flu shot, but no more COVID shots. I consider myself in pretty good health and my doctor told me that being I am in good health, he thinks I would do fine without it. The variants are milder than the others have been, so he thinks I should do ok. I haven’t done well with the COVID vaccines and really don’t care to try anymore.

What is a double flu jab?

I would recommend that you discuss with your doctor. My doctor sent an email to all of her patients recommending that we get the RSV, Covid (#5 for me), and flu vaccines. So I guess that I will do that. I did have night shivers and sweats after covid shots #2 and #4, but nothing severe.

Very frightening I bet.
It was very scary. COPD and asthma don't mix well with Covid. I'm doing what I can to protect myself. I wear a KN95 in the ER through my whole shift right now as we've had two to three cases a day that I know about in ER. I don't know how the nurses can see them in triage without masking up. I just don't wanna get it again and again if I can help it. Last time it wasn't as bad but the cough was miserable and the congestion was just so awful. I knew the docs would take care of me.

I had COVID when it first hit our shores and nearly died. I do not recall ever being that sick before in my entire life. Since then, I've had 4 COVID injections and was sick for a week thereafter. And, I do mean sick! Each time I've been face to face with someone who was ill with the virus, I've been tested and been negative each time. Ergo, next week, I'll get my annual flu shot, but no more COVID.

Furthermore, the virus is treatable today, but was not when I first became ill.

Very similar to my experience in early April 2020. I'm still not over it physically or mentally. Jab me up!

Just got an email notification from Kaiser that an updated Covid-19 vaccine is available. I'm not usre how that fits into the booster protocol. I have an appointment in about a month, I'll have Kaiser look at my shot record to see if I need one.

COPD and asthma don't mix well with Covid.

I have a history of Asthma and have recently been diagnosed with "mild Emphysema", so I'm taking immunizations more seriously.

So you were sick for a week after each vaccination? Just to clarify?
So it's not just me that reacted so much to my fourth.

So some of you folks have had five shots altogether? Is that right? The original 2 and 3 boosters?

Just to be clear, Rose65, my doctor assured me that the reason for my severe reaction was due to the fact that my immune system recognized this virus, (small piece in the vaccine), immediately, and I stored enough antibodies to begin fighting it instantly. Thus, I was hit fairly hard, but not like when I was really ill with it.

I had my 5th one in Novenber 22. It was the new Pfizer bivalent. It was said to target 2 viruses, both the Omicron subvarients and the original SARS-CoV-2. So far, I have been lucky and have had no negative reactions. Not sure if that is the latest booster.

I've had the first 4 vaccinations and will have the fifth one, along with a flu shot. I've had Covid 3 times, and fortunately each time the symptoms have been less severe to almost unnoticeable. My first, worst bout was before the vaccine was made available. We just took a 10-day trip and I've never heard so many people hacking and sneezing. I didn't come home with so much as a cold, but better safe than sorry. I don't think the media is overhyping the latest vaccine. I barely see it mentioned in the news these days.

I just recovered from a cold too. 4 days of cough drops, homemade chicken soup and rest but it was nothing to get vaccinated for.
I notice a different mindset between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated. The vaccinated always believe the shots prevent them from getting very sick while the unvaccinated rely on traditional treatments to recover fully from a cold. Welcome to the future?

I am cleaning in ER in the local hospital and have been masking to help protect myself. I been wearing my KN95 when I have to go into non-isolation patient rooms and when I go into the lobby (waiting room) to clean. I will be taking my 5th shot as well when it's made available to us. Next time I find out I have it I plan to make sure I get the medicine for it.
