I got a nibble on Facebook weeks ago and the woman still hasn't shown up. I've been stood up by her 4 times (I think). I finally told her (in as tactful a way as I could manage) to forget it. She obviously isn't interested and every time I try to pin her down on a day and time, she has an excuse or is evasive claiming family obligations or several different health problems. I feel like reporting her. Here is our exchange - my comments in bold, hers in normal text, what happened in between in italic:
Her: Is this still available?
Me: The paint is still available.
Her: Where is pickup please?
Me: When are you coming?
Her: In the morning if that's ok
Me: What time?
Her: 9 -10 ish
Me: I can give you directions if you let me know what direction you're coming from.
Her: The post office area
Me: In Stillwater?
Her: Yes
Me: Oh, you're very close. I am just below the Mobil Mart on the right. A large brick Victorian house with an historic marker out front. Park on Lansing Rd and walk over. Ring doorbell. Tomorrow between 9 and 10 am.
Her: Ok I will Thankyou
Me: That will give me time to get the cans out of the cellar.
Her: Haha
Me: You may want to bring a box to carry in case you take any.
Her: Ok thankyou. I'm thankful I found your listing...I am just getting into crafts and I need most of what you are offering I'm not working due to severe back issues. What kind of paint do you have?
I PMed her a complete list
Me: All I can say is I gave all the cans a shake test and I save the ones that sounded like they were still liquid. Some have more in than others.
Her: Ok
several days went by without contact, so I sent another PM to her.
Me: Are you still interested in the paint?
Her: I'm looking for jars that I could pour the paint etc.in
Me: They really aren't artist paint, more like for painting interior or exterior of houses.
Her: Yes that's fine I'm not doing art..just painting wood and glass etc.
Me: Okay. Just wanted you to know so you don't make a trip for nothing.
Her: Thankyou
a few days later
Me: When did you say you were coming to get the paint?
Her: Some time today but if you have plans don't let me hold you up
Me: I just want to know when you're coming. You originally mentioned between 9 and 10.
Her: Yes have my grandbabies I forgot about a football scrimmage this morning
Me: Does tomorrow work for you?
Her: Yes or I'll msg when I get out
Me: Can you approximate when that will be?
Her: Later this afternoon
I waited until 6 PM that afternoon. then I sent this PM
Me: I am going offline now, so if you want to meet at some time this coming week, let me know.
next day
Her: Ok
several more days elapsed
Me: Are you still interested in the paint? I am available Friday.
Her: Yes I am I'm just getting jars together
A few days later
Me: I am going to have to get on with other interested people.
Her: Ok I was trying to get a special mask and the jars I burnt my sinuses really bad like 8 years ago... I'm extremely sensitive to this stuff
Me: Like I said, I am moving on to the next interested person.
