To me, a very beautiful woman, and always the most fashionably dressed around. Everyone copied her. I just assumed she received total movie star treatment and was professionally made up and dressed. Not so, she had designers at her beck & call and delivering free outfits/gowns by the truckloads, as they do for all the Pres wives, but she insisted on making her own clothes selections w/o the help of stylists, and also chose to do her own hair a good deal of the time. And this was the shocker to me, she didn't wear a bit of makeup other than lipstick. ever! Makeup is a matter of choice, but you'd think being who she was, she would have gone that route. Nadda!

She's on the cover of PEOPLE magazine this week and it's very obvious she was au natural. Who woulda thunk it, knowing the glamorous image she projected? She was such a natural beauty and one of the classiest ladies I've ever heard of, so larger than life. I can hardly believe she is gone.

(Please no slams on her marrying that disgusting Onassis guy. She just wanted security for her family and out of this country where her husband's family was being taken out one by one...who can blame her?)

There was something about her that just gave me the creeps. Can't exactly put my finger on it but sorta Stepford Wifeyish... Was remembering little Caroline the other day and then saw a photo of her as ambassador to Japan. She certainly has her mother's eyes.

I agree with the Stepford wife analogy. Whenever she spoke, it was like a memorized script. She seemed to be a very unemotional person, as was John Kennedy, as I hear.

I have to admit to being very surprised when she married the old Onassis, after being married to the handsome, charismatic Kennedy.

She went down in my estimation when she married Onassis. She had,had other offers of marriage from far more respectable (and easier to look at) men, but obviously not with the same bank balance.
I once admired John Kennedy but what a rat. I wonder how many others in the White house had had late night, or not so late, female callers, putting aside "President" Clinton.
