Wonderful talent. Will so miss him. R.I.P. 
I was amazed to find out that Carrie Fisher never met James Earl Jones until they did an episode together for The Big Bang Theory. When she saw him she yelled "DAD". James did his voice recordings in a studio and never went on the set of Star Wars.

Loved his speaking voice and I always wondered if he had a good singing voice, I imagined it to sound like Paul Robeson singing "Ol Man River" from the movie "Show Boat"

Absolutely. Very distinctive qualities. Only a few actors I can think of like that -- Sam Elliott, Mike Rowe. But God broke the mold when He made JEJ.

He was such a talented actor in movies or on stage ,a favorite movie he appeared in was'Field Of Dreams' '89 as writer, 'Terance Mann'
In Nov 2010, I was visiting my brother& his wife for Thanksgiving,he got tickets for us to see Mr Jones&Vanessa Redgrave in revival of play' Driving Miss Daisy' on Broadway. I remember like it was yesterday.
They walked on stage together, we in the audience went nuts gave them a standing ovation for about a minute or so .They acknowledged it by nodding their heads. They terrific together,got another standing ovation at the end which lasted much longer than the first one
