Jane Austen vs. Emily Brontë

Whom do you prefer?
There already has been a debate on this topic at the Royal Geographical Society in February 2014:


I liked the discussion very much. Each of the advocates (Professor John Mullan for Jane Austen and writer Kate Mosse for Emily Brontë) had sound arguments and the humor did not miss out. A very plaeasurable video.
 

I recall some watching BBC show--can't remember the name. There was an exchange between two men that went something like:

Do you like to read?
I do.
Which authors do you like?
All three of them.

I figured he meant the Brontes, but it was never actually stated.

For myself, I've tried Austen, and Emily and just can't get into either. The style is just too dated for me.

I saw this too--brilliant.

Not a fan of Wuthering Heights (I finished it but with my teeth gritted), but Jane Eyre is one of my top fave books

J. Austen is the BEST!
