Janet Jackson is pregnant at fifty!

I wonder if a woman should be having a child at this age. I know that celebrities live by their own rules, but she will be in her sixties when the kid becomes a teen, and we know what that means...
 

That would have been a nightmare for me at 50, as a matter of fact I did have a couple of nightmares about that when I was around 50 & I wasn't even having sex then. We aren't all the same. Much depends on health and energy levels and finances. I would much rather hear a woman of 50 is bringing a child into the world than a girl of 14. Many people in their fifties end up raising their grandchildren anyway when they had no plans for that. It isn't something I would have wanted, but IMO it's her body, her life, her business.
 
For their wealth and fame celebs become fair game. But your thoughts make sense, especially about teens...
 

I've read rumor that she's having twins. Going through a pregnancy at fifty is just insane. I had my last baby at forty and that was difficult enough. Even if you're in tip top shape and athletic it's still a drain on an older body. Plus the added health dangers to mother and baby...there are lots of beautiful children to adopt out there, I think she's being foolish.

And this is any of my business why? Is there any reason I should care? Marx was wrong, Religion is not the great opiate. Celebrity and sports worship is even better!
 
Won't judge Jackson. I will wonder what the heck was a 50 year old thinking giving birth at their age. The child could be motherless before they graduate high school. By the time the child is 10 60 is a tough age for a soccer mom. How did Tony Randall's kid turn out?
 
I was forty when I had the youngest. Now at 54 I realize the older ones had a Mom much more full of pep than I can muster now. Janet will be in her sixties with a teenager...heaven help her.
