January 15th is National Hat Day. Do you wear one?

I have a real nice Stetson straw hat given to me by my favorite uncle, but seldom wear it. Maybe today's the day. :)
 
I definitely wear a hat when I go out on the tundra here...lol. I don't care what I look like just trying to keep warm.
 
My brains would boil if I didn't wear a hat here in Florida when I'm out for more than a few minutes. I once sunburned the heck out of my scalp while snorkeling in the Bahamas and that's something I'll never do again! Since it's hard to wear sunscreen on your scalp (unless you're bald), it's a hat for me!
 
I really hate to wear hats, always have since I was young, so I rarely did. Now on sunny days when I walk the dog in the park, I force myself to wear a ball cap with a brim, it not only helps protect my eyes from the sun since there was some sign of macular degeneration starting during my last eye exam, but it cuts down on the glare of my sunglasses.

Without the hat the sunglasses are so annoying, I can barely see sometimes facing the sun and often have to put my hand up by my eyes to give shade enough to see. Always hated wearing sunglasses too, probably part of my eye problems in old age. I also wear a wool cap in winter when it's really cold, windy, snowy, etc.

Don't get me started on gloves! :p
 
I wear a woollen thermal 'beanie' when it is cold. During the summer, I often wear a Nike baseball hat while walking or working in the garden. Mostly to keep the sun out my eyes.
 
Yes, I've got a dozen or so, plus a couple of Panamas.

They range from tweed caps (Derbyshire and Harris tweeds), large floppy brimmed, traditional Bavarian and the traditional trilby type in felt or tweed.
 
I never wear fashion hats which I think are ghastly, but I do wear a warm baseball hat if it is cold and a lightweight one if it is hot.
 
I'm surprised to get so many answers to my original post. It is fun to read all the replies.

There are a few more fun "National" days coming up this month. I'll be sure to post them also. :eek:
