When we moved into our house 19 years ago, we quickly replaced a small hedge with a Japanese Maple. We planted it ourselves and it couldn't have been more than 2 feet tall. Now it is big tree that turns green, orange or red, depending on season. During a very small window of time it turns a vibrant, bright red. It is now dropping its leaves and I just felt compelled to take a picture of how beautiful they are. They remind me of rose petals welcoming us to our front door.
