Did you watch the (semi) live "Jesus Christ Superstar" last night? What did you think about it?

I found it powerful and interesting and well-performed. My 94-year-old mother would have been horrified.

No. I saw the old 1973 movie long ago. But when I saw it again in maturity, I couldn't take it.

Oh the live version was much better than the original movie...and I LIKED the old version. I mean John Legend, Sarah Barellis AND Alice Cooper? WOW

The ”live“ version conveyed a lot of energy, emotion, and vitality with minimal separation from the audience. The dance elements were spectacular, and an integral part of the performance. All of these things were largely absent from the 1973 movie, which hasn’t aged well at all...
