Well, we spoke about the death of Hermain Cain and I happen to be watching John Lewis’s funeral. I am not a real political guy when it comes to events that politicians were involved in or their achievements, but I have been more in tune the last few years since retiring, so I do have some memory of Mr. Lewis being a member of the House of Representatives. I just wouldn’t win any political arguments.

I am aware of his background fighting for racial equality and his walks (I think 3) across the bridge while marching with Dr. King. After listening to the many speakers, he must have been dearly loved by his constituents, fellow Democrats and family. He served honorably and should be recognized as such. I am sure those in his circle will miss him.

He had the incredible guts to offer himself up to be beaten and jailed by white segregationists all the while returning the violence with non-violence to show the watching world how ugly and inhumane racism is. Like Gandhi, like his mentor MLK, Jr., John Robert Lewis was a man of great principle and courage.

He returned Hate with Love. How many of us could do that? Lived every moment of his life determined that equality should never be given up on. He was one Righteous Dude. ❤ Bless you, Sir. ❤

In today's New York Times, late John Lewis wrote an OP-Ed essay he wrote a few weeks before he died that was to be published on the day of his memorial service
The title is'Together,You Can Redeem the Soul of Our Nation' read it if you can
I love the last line he wrote:
'walk the wind brothers and sisters, let the spirit of peace, the power of everlasting love be your guide'

agree. term limits.
Term limits have been discussed in the past, but in Congress, it has not. Even when Congress was presented with numerous petitions asking that the measure be put up for a vote by the public, it never made it to the floor for even discussion.

Just crickets.

He was a great man. There are term limits. Great men, men who do their jobs get elected and re-elected. I see nothing wrong with this. It’s up to the people.
