Juice Recommendations, Por Favor?

We're not juice drinkers except for OJ... but I want to stock some up for my Mama and I'm getting quite the education today! I've researched articles on the best juices for seniors and I know the kinds/flavors, but I really need some help with specific brands. They either have way high sugar content (added, I mean, not the natural juice sugars) or high fructose corn syrup.... or sucralose/aspertame, etc. 🤮 I wasn't really expecting to find that junk in something like carrot and other healthy juices!

Any recommendations? I'd like under 12 or so grams of sugar. I actually found one, but I wanted to offer a variety for her. Blends are fine... most flavors are fine. I just don't want 26 or 28g of sugar in an 8 oz glass. (I am aware that one option is buying a juicer, but I don't think I'm ready for that since we don't drink it.)

I've been reading we should not drink fruit juices so often. The whole fruit is better for us. Kids have been over-juiced for years. It's kind of an acquired mind set, that we must have sweet drinks; soda, fruit juices, etc. Not true.

I know, I'm no help. Give her wine. 🥳

Yes, I heard that too.

The problem is that natural fruit juices are high in natural sugars. Unless you want to go for something like acai berry juice, tomato juice, or other vegetable juices. If it's fruit juice you're looking for, you might consider diluting whatever juice your mom likes with sparkling water. It'll dilute the taste but also dilute the sugar content. Or you might give coconut water a shot. You can try it straight or find it flavored. Just do a Google search. Good luck, and let us know what you decide to try.

Thanks, @Bella ... love the idea of diluting to get rid of some of the sugars! Nope, not important to be fruit, and I've been looking more at vegetable juices... and blends. Coconut water... I'll check that out. I've never tried it myself, but it sounds interesting.

Try Crystal Light. It says it has no sugar.
It's been a while since I've bought any, but I remember the pink lemonade flavor was good.

It comes in packets or powder form. Just mix w/water.

What about meal replacement drinks since she doesn't like to eat. Ensure or those types?
That sounds like a perfect solution! I know some of them are loaded with sugar (or is it sodium? ) but there must be some that aren't. She isn't diabetic or anything... it just doesn't feel right providing things that are loaded with nasty ingredients.

I drink two flavors of juice, both are V8 brand. One flavor is carrot ginger and the other is beet lemon ginger. I have tried others but always fall back on my two favorites. Good stuff.
Oh, thank you! I saw the carrot ginger on the shelf and wondered if the ginger may have a bite... but it doesn't? And beet lemon I've never seen anywhere, but gives me something to check out. It sounds very unique... which of those flavors is predominant? @C50

Kate I can't taste the ginger in either flavor, and there's no bite. The carrot is a nice quenching type of drink while the beet has a tad of sweetness to it. I like beets in general but they always have a bit of dirty flavor to them, I don't get that dirty taste in the juice though.

Check out a product called "true lime." It's crystalized lime w no calories, all you get is taste. There is also true lemon and orange and it's available from the online store.

For a hydration product w flavor check out Nuun. It's a tablet that dissolves in water. Many varieties and fruit flavors w only 1 g sugar per serving. This is available online or at the grocery store near the protein bars.

And my favorite juice when I was into juicing was beet/ginger and it packed a punch.....loved it. Usually added the beet tops/carrots/celery/apples along w the beets and ginger.
