Junk Mail, Update,

Remember this?

We keep hearing about scams in spam emails and junk
snail mail, well I got one last week!

Quote: "we are trying to contact somebody with your name
about an old insurance policy, if you think that it is you, please
call ******".

It was me!

I had bought an insurance policy in the 1980s when I worked in
the South Atlantic and forgot about it, I found the policy a couple
of months ago, but the company was gone and I hadn't got round
to following it through to see where it went.

So now I am waiting for a phone call from the new owners of my
arrangement.

Better than finding £20 in a coat pocket.

I have had more news, a chat with a human and a cheque for some
real money.

The policy was lapsed, the original insurance company was sold to
the one who found me, they stopped asking for the monthly payments
at that time I think, the lady couldn't tell me why the money stopped
being collected.

I was working abroad and had no bank statements to tell me that it had
stopped. When it matured in 1994, they started looking for me they said
and it took them 25 years.

The interest that the money had gathered since 1994 was just under £700,
so out of the blue I got an early Christmas present of just over £1,000.00.

Had the payments not stopped and they couldn't find me for all that time,
the interest would have been very interesting!

I am very happy.
