Good for you Fur, great time of year for it, I've lacked the energy to do anything but pull some weeds. Last of the snow is just melting in my neck o' the woods.
If I could get there absolutely Really I should write a book. I've kept a gardening journal for years. Orchids are fragile and I killed mine in weeks. But there is a geranium, knocked over by cats and hit or miss in watering. Maybe three feet high and blooming a few years later. But really son, air fare and I can make a pretty yard
I'll bet when the flowers are in bloom it looks so pretty and you obviously love colour!
Personally, I'm glad this year to be away from gardening. I've always had yards and they were kind of labour intensive by the time was done arranging them. Burnt out.
Funny I remember maybe twenty years back. I had grape vines painted on the garage...There was this old school landscaper living on the corner. Proud Sicilian, pulled me over one day..."You know only the Span-eesh, the Latinos do that kind of color?". Yup, now he is long gone and people like the color pop.
I'm pleased with discovering perennials. I used to put zillions of annuals in every Spring. Now with plants that come back on their own I can concentrate on potted things.
This is the curb side garden. The curb had crumbled and the tree blew down during Sandy. I'm proud how good it cleaned up. This is a Burning Bush...two feet high when I planted it
So that's what a burning bush is supposed to look like!!! We planted three about 10 years ago; one is broken off, another is maybe 14" tall, the last (growing in better soil) is about 4' but not nearly as bushy or leafy as yours.
What's the red stuff on the ground in the first photo?
