Just lookin' for kids my age

Hi there,
First time poster child for those whose maturity hasn't caught up with their physical age.

Yes, I am the favorite grandma because I still buy yo-yo's, marbles and tops to play with my grandsons. I was born a tomboy and 66 years later...I'm still a tomboy. Still would rather go hiking and make s'mores than spend all day making a perfect dinner.

I guess I am trying this forum to see if there are others out there like me. There has to be, I can't be the only one that is still in shape because I can't sit still, not because I have to force myself to go to the gym.

It's a beautiful world and there are too many wonders to see and explore to sit still because I'm over 60. Who says I have to slow down? Maybe if more of us took a walk rather than a pill, more of us would be better off. I am by no means saying there are not those that truly need meds. I just know too many family and friends that keep telling me I have nothing to prove and can slow down as they pop a pill for things that a change in diet would fix.

okay, said my piece, thanks for reading.
Peace ;o)

I'm very much like you... until recently for 2 major reasons.. one , my husband and I seperated and he and I went everywhere together ... I was the leader, because I love to be on the move all the time and he allowed himself to be taken ..but 2, because arthritis got me in my knees, so that's caused me to slow down significiantly. I don't walk slowly.. but I can't now climb my beloved mountains and steep hills, as I always have.. or can I afford 2 holidays a year now on a single income.....and I hate that..

You’re doing great. Keep it up!

My personal trainers have all been active dogs. Even when I might just as soon skip it, getting an active herding breed tired is on my to do list everyday.

I felt great when we were going to the Y more says than not but I’m several years your senior and my missus is ten years ahead of me. So I do what I can like today, a nice hike in the bluffs above the beach while my wife took her walker out on paved paths. Came home for lunch, a hand of cards and a soak in the spa. (No interest in football any more.)
