Just looking for a suggest on an arthritis issue in my foot

I have pretty bad arthritis in my ankle. The only suggestions I seek are should I see an orthopedic dr, or my primary? I went to a podiatrist last year and he said arthritis in ankle is not unusual...but it is not getting a lot better. Just want to know who would best advise me for treatment options, besides a boatload of pain killers.
Sometimes I can barely put weight on it to stand up from my recliner....and that is one of those lift chairs.
Right now I keep my walker near by, to help me stand

Marie you say it's not getting a lot better, so sorry. You are probably aware that there's no cure for arthritis, although treatments have improved greatly in recent years. What you can do is wear a support.

Try putting into Google, Arthritis ankle support. I'm not suggesting it will work, but I wear a knee support because I really need a knee replacement joint and the surgeon told me that I cannot kneel on a replacement, so I'm doing my best to relieve the pain in my knee. I do wish you well, not much fun, this getting old malarky.
