How many watched and enjoyed Lt. Columbo with his ratty raincoat, cigar and "just one more thing"? I loved Peter Falk in this show and tried to watch all the episodes though it wasn't always possible.

Still wtching now .. repeats are on channel 500 and something..lol... but yes I catch a show now and again.. and occasionally record one

I like mystery shows, but in recent decades they all get into the detectives' home lives, personal problems, etc. Colombo had plenty of personality, and a wife (whom you never saw), but the show wasn't a soap opera.

I agree. Back then they just stuck to the one case without getting distracted by love affairs.

Loved "Columbo". Yet my heart was with "Perry Mason". I have the CD set of shows, I have seen then multiple times . I don't what it is, but I still get caught up in them, even though I know, who did it. Heck, I even know the dialog!

Hate me if you want to but I couldn't stand him and I'll tell you why! Every show, had him questioning someone about a crime. What I found so bothersome was when he got to the door and as he was about to leave, he turned around & had this "just one more question." Like "Mash" and like "Dallas", Columbo had a lot of fans but I sure wasn't one of them.

I enjoy watching all of the old shows. They were clean and entertaining. They don't make 'em like they used to!

I think there is a reason these shows are still in rotation. People liked them and still do.

I was a fan too, and have seen some reruns just recently. Even after so long, can still just about predict what he was going to say next, the next lines in the script.

Smoking wasn't a big deal in 1974. Most homes had ashtrays everywhere for smoking guests.
