Just returned from hiking

Be what you is not what you what you ain’t
Location
Central NY
Just returned from hiking & picinc with my daughter at a nearby state park. For lunch we had various types of sushi, she had Kabuncha and I had Kevita sparkling probiotic drink (lemon/Cayenne).

The idea of harvesting NYS wild mushrooms was very appealing to us and if we get the hang of it we can spend more time together on basis of "the mission". I know very little about edible and medecinal mushrooms, where the grow and what to do when you find them. Sounds fun!

@Mr. Ed it sounds like you had a great time. Can't get any better than hiking and a picnic .
I would be very carful about picking wild mushrooms. Even experts have made mistakes that cost them their lives.
Years ago I listened to someone speak about gathering mushroom and where they grow.
It seems that sometimes edible mushrooms can become poisonous depending upon what trees are nearby.
Some people put a copper penny in the water when cooking them. If it turns color the mushrooms are bad. This has turned out to be an old wives tale and will not work. I'm sure there are many more tests that are unsafe.
As much as I love mushrooms I'll stick to store bought. Even then people have gotten sick on them.
