My lab Suzie (with me for 14 years) had no concept of personal space, especially as to "her" chair. If she wanted up in that chair, she'd jump up there, no matter who else was already in it. It could be a bit alarming at times, to look up and see 80 pounds of grinning labrador retriever flying through the air at you (she liked to take a good running jump).
