Kadee`s vacuum post reminded me, my sister's COPD Stem Cell Treatment

I meant to tell you all about this. My eldest sister (she is 76) has COPD. She smoked since she was a teenager, didn`t quit until about age 60. She has had such terrible problems over the past year, several hospitalizations, and has been pretty miserable. She really thinks she has a fungal infection-most likely from the tubing on her oxygen equipment-but the doctors won`t listen to her. Anyway,my sister and her husband are very well off (and I will say that they have earned every penny of what they have-in business for 45 years and pretty much worked 16 hours a day,7 days a week). Anyway, she heard of an experimental treatment being done in Arizona using your own stem cells that they feel will cure COPD. Her pulmonologist told her to save her money and go on a cruise instead but my sister told her "I`ve been on plenty of cruises-and I can`t fly now anyway. I`d rather see if there`s any possibility that I could breathe again." So they drove to Arizona last week, she had the stem cells Implanted? injected? however they do it and came back home. Now it`s a wait and see thing. I`ll keep you all posted.

By the way,I mentioned that my sister and her husband are "well off" only because this treatment is,of course, not covered by insurance. I have absolutely no idea what it cost her to do this, but it`s only a one or two day thing and I don`t think it required any kind of hospitalization or anything,so maybe it wasn`t TOO crazy expensive? I`ll have to just ask her next time we talk. I did ask her how they determine if it`s helping and she said they keep a very detailed diary on what you are able to do day by day, week by week. Things such as climbing stairs (how many, how long did it take you),those kinds of things.

Update on my sister`s COPD treatment

Some of you were curious as to how my sister`s stem cell treatment is working. They had said it would take 3-6 months to see results. It has been 4 months and the results are remarkable. My younger sister and I talk to her regularly on the phone and are amazed how strong her voice sounds. Usually she has periods where her voice is just thin and breathy. She just sounds fantastic! She has been able to cut way back on her oxygen and has more energy than she`s had in years. I`m very impressed and so is she. So far this Winter, she has not had a single ER visit or hospitalization. I can`t remember when that last happened! She has also been seeing an accupuncturist to treat an ongoing sinus issue and that is really helping that as well,so may be contributing to her feeling so much better.

I merged this thread with your original one Mrs. R, like Pappy I didn't recall hearing about your sister. I'm so happy to hear that the treatment is working for her, the results sound excellent...so happy for her! I hope her healing continues to progress in the future, wishing her the best! :love_heart:

Awesome news about your sister Mrs. Robinson. I use human stem cell products for my skin and hair and they really do help. And I'm not wealthy either.
