Keep the TSA From Robbing Us Blind?

Hmmm...thought the TSA was there to protect all of us from the 'bad guys'...but how do we protect ourselves from THEM? Luckily I rarely fly, through my own choice. Haven't been on a plane in over a decade, since all the x-ray machine nonsense came into place. Here's someone's idea of how to drop a wrench in their works...http://www.naturalnews.com/038601_tsa_anti-theft_video.html

I think theft committed by TSA employees should be a high level federal offense.

I have no love for these goons and goonesses, IMO they are at the bottom of the government food chain. My recent experiences with them begs the question of how many actual problems have they averted as opposed to life before TSA, when just plain x-ray screening of carry ons and purses was done.

I don't believe anyone's personal belongings should be opened by anyone other than the owner, and then hand screened with the owner standing right there.

Last summer when I made my annual schlep to Dallas, I counted no less than 13 TSA agents milling around the lower level of the airport, having smoke breaks, jawing with each other and being useless in general. Most of them looked like they would wet their pants if someone said boo to them.

My regional airport is very small and that was just on the floor of the lower level, don't know how many were in the gate area, aside from the screeners since the security check area was filled to the max and backed up at least 30 minutes behind schedule, with no concern about passengers being late for their flight. I had to jump line twice, thanks to some very understanding people and still just made it to the plane as they were closing the door..Stressful!

This year, the security check line was backed up and there were two lines open, one for privileged passengers and one for everyone else. Needless to say which line was backed up, with at least three agents and a supervisor standing around like deer with their eyes caught in the headlights, doing nothing. One lady spoke up and asked if they could open another line...Oh no, says the useless supervisor, they're at lunch. Remember, this was during sequestration when they were saying to expect longer lines....what they meant was just expect longer lines due to slower workers.

Oh, and then there was the extremely overweight gross one, popping out of his uniform, leaning on the rail on the escalator for 20 minutes watching the ladies go up, hoping to get a panty peek...gross! Just the kind of security I would like to see if I were up to mayhem and mischief.

Boy did that instill a feeling of warmth and security in me, kind of like peeing your pants in a wet suit.

I will probably continue to make this annual pilgrimage, because it is a short hour hop, but that is going to be the extent of my future flying excursions.

I'm missing something...
Although I have not flown since 2006, I stupidly always thought a carry-on bag stayed in your sight at all times ... I mean you carried it on, put it in the overhead compartment and got it out when you landed. Not anymore? When does anyone have a chance to rifle through it?
Things must be different now. Too crazy for me!!:upset:

This morning I saw a special report on FOX detailing all problems concerning the TSA which included theft, sleeping on the job, tardiness, un professionalism, foul language in dealing with public, failure to pass covert tests...all of which have no real consequences to the employees, except perhaps the issue of theft. One supervisor was caught tutoring agents under him how to steal.

In my mind, the most disturbing part about this is that so many government agencies are being exposed for so many serious problems lately. It seems there is no oversight or consequences for malfeasance in these agencies. Just one story after another, quickly taking the one before it's place, but nothing being done about it.

In the article that SeaBreeze linked to it states that the TSA is the worst personnel manager in the federal government...I doubt it...we just haven't seen the others.

Oh, and the agent that made off with the $40,000 from the drug mule...lots of luck with that ...doesn't he watch Breaking Bad!

No cure for stupid, that is until the drug lord comes knockin' to collect!
