KFC To Go Beyond Meat This Coming Monday

I think it is great for people who chose for whatever reason to not eat meat ....
but why the need for Beyond Meat or Impossible Burger etc?

I can not imagine the chemicals used to flavor plant based to taste like meat is all healthy.....
If the meat industry was trying to win back those who decided against meat ... would they say look at this impossible carrot .....is chicken that tastes just like a carrot ?

Many vegetables are delicious by themselves why do i need them pressed and processed and flavored to pretend i am eating meat.

Do that many people who do not eat meat frequent KFC .... i never found their side dishes to be a big draw .....

I don't "have to" always have meat, I enjoy a veggie burger occasionally, but don't try to pretend that it is meat.
KFC and most other fast food places hold no appeal for me, I doubt if the truly health conscious non-meat eaters would consider eating KFC in the first place.

Our agriculture is going to change substantially in coming years. This 'beyond meat" stuff is just the start of what we may see in coming years. Animal waste and Flatulence is a huge contributor to the increasing abundance of Methane....which is many times more dangerous to our environment than CO2. All the growth hormones that are added to our chicken/livestock feed stays in that meat and is consumed by those who eat the meat....which, IMO, is a major contributor to the nations increasing Obesity.

I don't think breaded and deep-fried vegie burgers are going to help with the obesity problem, nor do I believe they're going to be popular, although they might be tasty. You can bread and deep-fry cardboard and it would be tasty! :ROFLMAO:

Cardboard doesn't contain any Growth Hormones.

Amen!

I love KFC original recipe but don't buy it much. Their cole slaw is the best in the world. I will not be buying the non meat varieties. But sometimes I love an original drumstick and cole slaw and their biscuits. Next time I want fried chicken I might order a little but it will be the real thing.

i have eaten a veggie burger now and then some versions are better then others.
Those on menus it does not bother me at all......... veggie patties available etc.

but these companies like beyond meat... and impossible meat and i believe a few more ..........are more interested in passing themselves off as meat.
I remember the big debut at Burger King...... i guess ... they switched out ( or pretended to ) on some customers that look like real meat eaters to get the response" it tastes the same ...." paid people not always the most reliable source of truth and honestly with certain and amount of condiments on some of these burgers you could replace with anything and not tell.

this is working its way into a bigger and bigger section at the meat counter In my area shops ... plant based why not carry a cooler in produce section.....
