King Charles and Queen Camila will attend the new session of our Canadian Parliament later this month, to read the Speech from the Throne, which will outline the proposed legislation to be brought forward by the newly elected Government of Canada. The King will be speaking in both French and English during his speech. Both houses of Parliament, The House of Commons and the Senate, along with the 9 Justices of the Canadian Supreme Court will be present at the Throne Speech. Prime Minister Mark Carny has all ready been sworn into his position by the Govenor General, and next week the newly elected Members of Parliament will also be sworn in. JIM>

Some might say we're a quarter through the 21st Century, making that much more amazing people still lick the boots of an inbred remnant of Medieval aristocracy.

King Charles may be polite, but I doubt it's coincidence that he's addressing the Canadian Parliament- the first time a monarch gave an address in 68 years.
Some might say that's giving the Royal Finger to 51st staters.
..or given he's battling cancer, he might just think it'll be the only opportunity he'll get.

The Royal family have a love affair with Canada...

It is a point that should be noticed by the US Government, to underline that Canada has friends who are willing to stand with us. The last time that Queen Elizabeth addressed our Parliament was in 1977. That was 48 years ago, not 68 years. In any case, the King is BOTH the Monarch of Great Britain AND Canada. Same person, two different roles. JIM.
