Do you prefer that a visitor knock or use your doorbell? What do you do when visiting? We much prefer that visitor use doorbell as it is better heard.

Doorbell. I'm usually upstairs. Doorbell ringer is up there. Couldn't hear a knock. Doorbell does still scare my cat, though, still, after 8 years.

I prefer just using the doorbell, but if it's really urgent and there's no response to the bell, then a knock or two is fine.

Knock. My doorbell is broken, has been for a while. Not at the top of my priority list but hope to get to it in the spring.

Well the transformer for the doorbell burned out years ago.

If I ever hear a knock on the door, I'll know that I forgot to shut the driveway gate.

For those who have broken doorbells, install one of the new wireless doorbells. Just plug the unit into the wall socket and stick the button on the outside using the installed sticky strip. They are cheap and easy to install. Oh, you have to select the chimes you want to hear. I chose the Westminister chimes for the back door and just a plain bing-bong for the front.

Thats what we have. Got it at Lowes. Ours really makes a loud chime. Can't miss it.

We don't have a doorbell. Like Hazy Davey, we have a dog who alerts us immediately.

Our dog has never lived in a house with a doorbell. Yet when he hears one on TV, he's at the door, barking his fool head off.

I live in an apt. and we have buzzers-they make an awful buzzing sound. The manager knocks or uses the thingy I think may be called a klacker? When I visit others I use the doorbell unless they don't have one.

Got one of those too. Works great and sounds nice.
