Kumatos

On wikipedia it seems to say it is a tomato created with higher fructose level. Gee, just what we all need, more of the unhealthy type of sugar. (n)

I would KILL to get those at any price. They are outstanding, one of the best hydroponic varieties. Sweet and a bit tangy, great acid balance - marvelous in Caprese Salad. It's my spouse's favorite salad, and using the Kumatos I could make it year-round.

I have not been able to get the Kumatos at all since the pandemic began. Only one store carried them, and they have said they haven't been able to get them in sufficient quantity to offer them again.

The Kumato is a Spanish heirloom variety.

Lucky you, Deb!

Kumato's are the only commercial tomatoes I like. I haven't seen them on the market for the last three months.

Unfortunately, Kumatos are hybrids. They won't return true to variety.
Thanks for letting me know. It will still be interesting, though. I saved seeds from winter squash I had last year. I have several plants started and they all have fruit already (although unripe). They look like delicata and carnival squash.
