We see so many Quinceaneras at our local arboretum. These girls are just coming of age at 15, and their families are so proud. This is such a momentous time in their lives and such a special event in Latin culture. That makes it just that much sadder.

I can't imagine the pain her family is feeling and I also feel sorry for the pain the Policeman is going through. I am sure he never expected something like this to happen.

After watching the video of the incident, it was obvious that the officer did NOT need to shoot. The suspect was not approaching the officer & the woman the suspect injured was already moved away from the scene & not in danger at the time. The officer should have ordered the suspect to drop the chain. Of course, if he had approached the officer, shooting would be justified.
There is a reason for the rule: "Be aware of your target and what's behind it."
