Ladies (and gents?) as a child did you play with dolls?

I remember having one doll which the only interest I had in it was to paint its fingernails. I'd also pull its arms away from its body to peek inside it to see what held the arms, legs and head together. I sure gave no sign I'd make a loving mother. lol

I couldn't stand dolls which drove Mom crazy because she loved them. I would always dress my pets up.

I still cant stand them. All my dolls were perfect. Nekid but perfect. :D
I stripped them down and put their clothes on the dogs and cats.

Even after I was married I still painted my dogs toenails.
I had a Doberman a Rottweiler and a Chow. All girls. :D

I had baby dolls til I was older. Then I went on a Barbie kick til mom gave my Barbies to my aunt without my permission.

She decided I was too old to play with them. I hated her for that. Never forgave her for it.

Later in life I started collecting then some things happened and my collection got screwed up and I had to unbox them all.

I ended up selling them to pay bills and then Barbies got too expensive and I had no way to showcase them in my small apartments.

Now I have 2 stuffed animals.

When I was a kid, most boys wouldn't be caught dead holding a doll. There were no G I Joes or superhero dolls then. There were little toy soldiers, so maybe they count.
I think little toy soldiers didn't really count as dolls. We played with those with my uncle when we were younger.

Oh, yes! My sister and I had Betsy Wetsy, Thumbelina, Chatty Cathy, and Barbie and Skipper. Our mom sewed beautiful, complete wardrobes for our Chatty Cathy dolls. My favorite was Chatty Cathy. We also had dolls that my mother had when she was a child. Mine was Peter, and my sister had Felizia. The heads, arms, and legs of these dolls was something breakable. They had real hair, and cloth torsos.

I never had much interest in dolls or stuffed animals.

My older sister had her bed covered with them and always fussed over hers.

That could be the reason that I wasn’t interested, we were and still are, as different as night and day. 🤔

Yes, I had lots of dolls! Baby babbles was my favorite until my brother tore her head off... don't know why he did that 😌
I found out by accident that my baby brother was terrified of my cheap barbies with no heads (Midge). The heads were on a ball and popped off easy peasy. He freaked out and I thought it was hilarious so I'd chase him around the house with them or scare the bejesus outta him in the middle of the night. LOL

In my cupboard are some Sindy dolls wearing original clothes. I know I could sell them but, I won't. I used to love making clothes for my Sindy/Barbie dolls.
