At the funeral of the highly respected news reporter, George Alagiah , he left the following instructions for the congregation :-

Alagiah's own words, as read by Sophie Raworth (BBC news reader).
He had left them all the following instructions:

"If you haven't already told the people you love that you love them, tell them;
"If you haven't already told them how vulnerable you sometimes feel, tell them;
"If you want to tell them that you'd like to be with them until the front hall stairs feel like Everest, tell them.
"You never know what is coming around the corner.
"And if, lucky you, there is nothing around the corner, then at least you got your defence in first."

I spoke with a friend of mine who died from cancer less than a week ago. The last time I spoke to him was 4 days before he died and I was telling him how much we all will miss him. He said not to be sad for him, but be glad, “My pain will at last be gone.” He said he has been suffering for 4 years, but these last few months have been hell on earth. He said God can take me home as soon as he wants because I am ready to end this pain.
