Lately, been thinking of childhood Christmas decorations.

This is more recent, but does anyone remember those Christmas tree ornaments that were plastic, but looked like frosted glass? The ones with a tacky color-change LED inside? You could plug them in in place of a small light in a string. Different shapes: angel, star, or weird blobs.

I still have like 3 of those. So tacky. I wanted them to look nice, but they just don't.

Having moved a lot growing up, mom would save some things we hand-made at school,
in a box.
Weight and size restrictions were a problem when it came to keeping stuff.
The coast-to-coast moves were hard, but the 3 moves to Hawaii were the worst when I was growing up!
(but we soon got over it, once we landed in Hawaii each time).

Had the same problems during my military time, not knowing about how long you might be on the 'housing list',
waiting for base housing at your new station.
We learned to travel Light.

Somehow, the wife managed to keep a lot of our two son's ornaments and when we put up our tree now, each one reminds
us of our travels and them growing up.
