Law and Disorder 1974

Back in the day the Gran Fury was a serious car for some police departments in the Northeast that were into highway enforcement. 440 CID engines and all the other goodies under those hoods that guys would grab at auctions.

BTW. There are a large number of retired NYPD MOF's that have RMP clubs and all their cars are all decked out like they are still in service. One or two clubs only have RMP's with all original parts from the motor pool. No aftermarket replacements or retooled parts.

I used to love them all. Highway Patrol got all the cool cars. Fast and loud as hell. Would be nice to have one now but I wouldn't buy one even if I could afford it. Too much upkeep. Feels like you're driving a boat compared to modern cars.

If you're not into OEM like some car clubs demand for membership you can buy a basic no frills car and add on what you like. Working or not. It's all in how much you want to spend and your capabilities for DIY mock ups.

That's true. Some of the purists out there are just so dedicated. I thought about it but nah. I don't think I will be able to stop at just that. šŸ˜‚
