Leaf Guy Never Showed Up

Some of you probably remember my posting during the summer when I am man I contacted stood me up three times about coming to give me an estimate on lawn mowing. Now I've been looking for someone that can vacuum and dispose of my leaves. My aunt recommended someone she said did an excellent job for her. I contacted him. We agreed he would come today between 10 am and noon. It is now 4:45 pm and he never showed up or called. Now the leaves will be buried under snow! What's going on with these guys?

LOL...Sorry deb, but I'm beginning to think it's something you're saying..or you live in the horror house at Amityville..there can be no other explanation.. :rofl1:

Seriously, how can all these other people get the work done without any problems but not you?...so why don't you try getting the other people to book the job for you, and see if they turn up then ?

I don't know what I could have said since the last I heard from him is that he would be here this morning. I don't think my house is THAT bad, except if Victorian houses scare you.

It doesn't scare me Deb...but it might be scaring them ...in all seriousness, I don't know what the answer is, except to get someone else to book them on your behalf

Are they maybe getting other jobs that are paying them more? Did the price of the job come from them or from you?

He just emailed me:

With the weather coming tonight figured we would not be doing leaves any time soon. I’m sorry for not calling to let you know. I was running around like crazy trying to get everything ready and put away. If the snow melts or we do not get what they say we are we will look at it then. If we keep getting snow we will get it cleaned up in the spring time. Again I’m extremely sorry for not calling you today.

Well, do you have a rake, and some bags?

Deb, there has to be a reputable service in your area for a simple leaf removal. Pay the price and get a reputable company to do this and other repairs or chores you need done. You invite trouble by trying to save a dollar by taking second hand advice from someone, just make an appointment with a good lawn service company and pay them when they do the job. Easy, the best way to do it.

I bag up my own leaves, had 10 bags total this year, did half the job at a time to save my back. But if I'm no longer willing or able to rake my own leaves or shovel my snow, I will definitely be getting someone reliable to do the job for me.

I have a quarter acre lot with many mature maple trees and saplings. Too much work now to try to do it myself anymore with my floppy-wheeled lawnmower.

Then you should follow my advice above, contact a reputable lawn service and use them.
