Bought 16 oz. Container of sour cream..used a little..
To save for next time..and didn't want it to get moldy in refrigerator
Froze it.
Oh! No..
Got it out tonight to use..it had turned watery.
What to do with rest?

Looked on internet for ideas..none.

So, I'm thinking some smart, clever SF member(s)..will come up with something 🤗

Hi Jace: Perhaps the liquid and the cream separated. Have you tried stirring the contents?

Failing that, there are many recipes incorporating sour cream - usually I freeze sour cream near the "best before date" and use the thawed sour cream for muffins/biscuits/scones.

It’s normal to go watery after it’s been frozen, just stir it through.

Use in a pasta sauce ( which you can then keep in the fridge for a few days but do not freeze)

I use it in goulash

or as salad dressing with favourite herbs.

I made sour cream pancakes today..yummy!

The water is actually whey that has separated from the cream. You can mix it in and it is still good. Just doesn't look so good. When you put it away make sure it has no open spots, pat it down a bit. You can put a piece of wax paper on top of it (not on top of the container but on top of the cream itself).
