My life seems to be the opposite of Fritz. I worked my last day, aged 79, three weeks ago. Insurance issues have more or less put me into retirement, but I am as busy as I ever was.you know it's funny...except for leaving the house to go to work...i basically live like a retired person. lol! i just kinda putter around the house doing this, that and the next thing. resting. participating in my hobbies. attending dr visits and dealing with hospitalizations. i don't mind it necessarily. i feel like it's practice for later. lol!

Good morning!
It's been a busy Sunday for me. I woke up and watched my church service and then did some blogging. Then I turned on a black and white movie while I decluttered the lower part of the closet. The top shelf in there is ok for now.
Then I took all my trash to the bin for tomorrow and did my breathing treatment. I'm getting ready to finish my pizza. The birthday cake ice cream from Great Value is kinda gross. There's this blue frosting in the middle. It was too yucky to eat. Next time I'll get the strawberry ice cream or something.
My Roflumilast is doing well. I had to get some pills for the stomach/bowel upset but hopefully that will be over soon enough. I am able to work harder and faster and run around a little more at work without being so out of breath which is nice.
My ride for tomorrow is having car trouble a lot lately. His jeep is acting up again so I will have to catch an Uber tomorrow. I can probably find a ride home. Hopefully soon I will have my 401k and can find a decent vehicle I can afford.
Well see I have nobody to visit and rarely need to leave the house. I do some chores once in a while when I'm able. Most of the daily stuff is cooking and dishes. I'm glad you're busy!My life seems to be the opposite of Fritz. I worked my last day, aged 79, three weeks ago. This morning I was up at six, showered, shaved and dressed. Domestic chores will take up much of the morning, later we have some provisions to shop for. This afternoon I am meeting up with my tailor. Not for something new, he's asked me if he can photograph a couple of the Hawaiian shirts my wife made. I checked out the lady and she permitted it.
This evening it's my turn to cook, beef casserole since you asked. We are then off to a friend's house where my wife will look at an alteration on a special dress her friend has asked if she can do. Inevitably others will join us and so it goes on............
actually i changed my mind because it wasn't that big of a bill. it was like $2400 so i put it on the credit card. so i think i'll be ok.Has that new med stopped bothering your stomach? I hope so.
Have you needed to continue with taking something for the stomach/etc, or has it resolved enough now?
I also had wanted to say that was good that you'd gotten that paperwork mailed , for the financial with your hospital bill.
It will also help you financially when they pick up the oxygen equipment , and stop billing for that.
Have a good day.
It's hot but we're alive, right?![]()
I’m curious/nosy, do you pay as you go for food delivery or do you have a subscription to one of the delivery services.i got half the dishes done. will do the other half soon. i have a little laundry to deal with. gonna order some mcdonald's soon and probably watch some tv. might declutter the bedroom while i'm watching tv. we'll see how i feel. lol!
i have a subscription/membership from walmart that costs me around $98 a year. i get free delivery and free shipping and a free subscription to paramount plus streaming service to watch tv.I’m curious/nosy, do you pay as you go for food delivery or do you have a subscription to one of the delivery services.
As I get older, I’m trying to get a better understanding of how these things could help me remain independent.
Thanks!
i don't know anything about uber. i only use it for rides. the apps on the phone are a little easier to manage than the websites. i don't know if you have a smartphone? Thanks for the information.
I understand that a subscription to Uber for rides can also include free/reduced delivery fees for some restaurants.
I think a subscription to Walmart and to Uber might be a good way to cover most of my bases.![]()
I do.i don't know anything about uber. i only use it for rides. the apps on the phone are a little easier to manage than the websites. i don't know if you have a smartphone?
it's nice to be able to stay independent as long as you can!I do.
Smarter than me, for sure!![]()

and yes it will be nice not having the monthly oxygen bills.
so far the stomach issues with the new med have improved greatly. i do still get a slight headache from it but hopefully that will pass. my appetite has improved but not a lot. i try to eat and it doesn't take much for me to feel full. hopefully that part will be to my fat ass advantage. LOL
it's a teensy bit cooler today but i have the a/c on 70. i sweat all day at work so when i'm home i like to be comfy.
thanks for dropping in.![]()
