Legal Oddities (Part I & 2): Funny weird laws still on the books in Canada

In Scotland it is an offence to be drunk in charge of a cow.
It is also an offence to fire a cannon within 300 yards of a dwelling to the annoyance of the residents.

One of the more extreme laws from the last was the banning of Christmas in 1640 and you could be thrown in jail for celebrating it. Although the law was repealed in 1712, the church frowned upon the celebrations and Christmas day did not become a public holiday until 1958.
