Let's honor some People who Serve with Song

I am sometimes at a loss for words when I see people react badly to the jobs being done
by those out there risking their lives for us. So many times I see gut reactions to a bloated
negative headline passing judgement before the event has been investigated.
It makes me wonder what that person would do if it were them out there being cursed, spat on,
having aggressive actions all around them for hours on end.
As this wife of one who protects us sings.... before you criticize, walk a mile in their shoes

"You Still Put The Uniform On" by Holly Cahill

There's a story behind the choice of Sentimental Journey. My wife and her ambulance partner were just walking back to the ambulance, having brought in a patient to A&E: (Accident & Emergency,) when a young mother with a baby in a pushchair were heading the other way.

The mother reached out and touched my wife's forearm, then she smiled and said: "You don't remember me?"Adding: "That's understandable, you were at the business end when you delivered my baby." "Of course," my wife replied, "you had a beautiful little girl, she was about to make her appearance and we stopped before reaching the hospital," "and you delivered her," the young Mother said, finishing off my wife's recall.

"My husband and I were so grateful for your help," the mother went on, "we found out that your name is T...it's the name we gave our little girl."
"What an honour, thank you!" My wife replied. That put my lady on such a high her feet didn't touch the ground for a week. When she regaled me with the tale I played Sentimental Journey on our jukebox, it seemed a fitting conclusion to a wonderful experience. The song still makes her smile.
