A recent television news report stated that housing prices will continue to rise with the effect that even fewer lower income people will be able to afford a home.
It was stated one major factor contributing to the rising prices was immigration.
2023/24 net immigration into Australia was 541,600.
With 53,400 of those arriving in Perth.
It is seriously time to stop denying that over immigration is destroying Australians' ability to live with dignity in their own country.

AI Overview
Over 11 million immigrants arrived in the U.S. between 2020 and 2025

This figure includes both authorized and unauthorized immigrants, and encompasses a record increase in annual totals, with over 3 million arrivals in 2023 alone. The total foreign-born population reached a record 53.3 million in January 2025.

You know I think it's pretty sad that immigrants get our jobs and our housing and don't hafta pay taxes with that green card and meanwhile we're scraping by paycheck to paycheck.

We could end up homeless in our own country and our government lets it happen. Very little assistance to get back on your feet again. But the foreigners are laughing it up while they live their best life.

When did America stop caring about its own people? Why do we keep letting them in everywhere to screw stuff up for us?

My facts might not be perfectly correct but I'm tired of everyone else taking and taking and taking from us. I imagine other countries struggle too.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced historic progress in securing the homeland, highlighting a year of record-breaking achievement of more than 2.5 million illegal aliens leaving the U.S.

Additionally, thanks to the comprehensive efforts of DHS law enforcement, 1.9 million illegal aliens have voluntarily self-deported since January 2025. We encourage all illegal aliens to use the CBP Home app to get a free flight home for Christmas and $1,000.

Removed any political reference just took the part where numbers were cited. This is happening but not without protests. Not going to post what I think about protestors. Just thankful something is being done.

I have trouble believing that the millions of people that walked into the United States with nothing but the clothes on their backs are responsible for the recent spike in median home prices of around $425,000.00.

If anything, I would believe that they are a source of below market labor that would help to hold home prices and other costs down.

It all sounds like propaganda designed to find a focal point for our frustration and rage over rising costs.

Don’t misunderstand, I’m all in favor of strong borders, deporting people that pose a threat, and creating a pathway to citizenship for decent hard working people in search of a better life.

I just ain’t buying it.

immigrants get our jobs
I've been hearing this fairy tale all my life. It's started by people who hate immigrants, and who want to scare simple minded boobs.
Immigrants get all the jobs, mainly seasonal ones, that lazy citizens of this country don't want, or think are below them.

I have always liked immigrants, but have always also realized that there are way to many that do come into our country. Looking at where our country is situated on a map of the world, is easy to see why people in South America or Central America come to the U.S. Some probably go to Mexico, but that has always been a poor country.

this story will go on for ever!! - the poor wanna better life so emigrate - some of us don't like sharing that? - it's an un-even world but we are all human - same body forms - pregancies etc etc - and yet we till can't share??
