Life Always Ends the Same Way

It appears no matter what we do, we all end the same way. First we suffer terribly and then we DIE! There is no way to avoid this outcome. I'm 87 and suffering every day from arthritis of the neck, spine, arms and hands. I have terrible pain in neck and my neck is bent at a 45 degree angle. Feet are usually in pain although I did get a new pair of orthotic shoes which cut the severity of the pain. At 87 my life expectancy is very short. After age 90 half the population gets dementia. My future is bleak. I wonder how other over 85 people are doing. What can they do to change the outcome?

I don't have any answers, Mitch .. only that I'm sorry you are suffering so much pain. Are you at all able to socialize for a bit, each day? It may take your mind off your discomfort for a short while.

All the best to you.

I am sorry for your pain, but for many it does not end that way. My wife went to sleep one night and never woke up.

I'm sorry you're suffering but be thankful you have lived to such an age. Many people's lives are cut short before they have had a chance to enjoy all that life has to offer.

There's no changing the outcome, and I'm not even 70 yet, but I've chosen to keep myself as comfortable as possible using my pain pills. Some days I only need 1 or 2, some days 5 or 6, doesn't matter as long as they last until the refill date. At my age and in my condition, there's no reason to worry about addiction. I'm active when I can be, rest when I need to, and meditate at least once a day. That's my formula and I'm sticking to it.
