Life will find a way apparently.

It looks like it might be the beginning of a good children's book.

Seriously guys, this is not a funny occurrence. I lived briefly in a converted carriage house. In a corner of the bedroom a huge fungi was growing in the corner between the floorboards and the wall. I called the board of health about it because the place was mold ridden and was making me ill. They would do nothing about it as the place was a "grandfather" structure and the same rules don't apply, so I had to leave because I couldn't stand it anymore. When plants grow indoors this could be dangerous to a human's health. Just FYI.

Every Pagoda has a tree growing through it.

The Pagoda is built round a growing tree and
they are the only buildings that do not fall down
during an earthquake.

But that one you show Ronni is not nice, of course
it might be there for a reason, to stop people coming
back if they are not welcome.

Mike.

I set a potted pink rosebush next to my garage once that I totally ignored for a year or more. It sent its roots into the gravel ground through little drainage holes in the bottom of it's black plastic container....and produced the most beautiful pink roses.

I decided it deserved a place of honor and planted it where my mailbox lived at the street for all to see and enjoy. Twice I had people come down the long driveway to ask me what type of rose it was. I eventually moved and don't remember the name of it now. I miss it. 🌿🌸🌿

Fungus and mould are completely different though chic and I DO agree that they are really bad for human living conditions but this looks like some type of ivy which I expect is quite harmless. It’s not ideal but not necessarily dangerous.
.

But what's underneath it Keesha? There shouldn't be dirt under anyone's floorboards. This is my point. Dirt is damp and moldy.

We had something like this at our old house it was a type of sticker bush would come through the window and actually make its way through the caulking it was a very tough plant! We would have to re-caulk the window every year what a pain! We have since moved And have learned not to plant greenery too close to the house.

Ronni, what do the home's owners have to say about their "garden"?
I'm not a plant person, so I don't know if the twig came from a seed or a root. If it's from a seed, then what ever is below this room is moist enough to support life, which is great for mold and rot. If it's from a root, it means that roots are undermining the structure: which, again, doesn't sound too good.
Did they have the home checked out?
