For the following 2 jpg's took data from the following website that has much more supporting text for hobby and activity types. Though a long list, there are a great many more items that could be added as the scope of our modern societies are indeed complex. Suggest whatever and I may update it. The numerical color highlighting was my crude attempt at a bit of organization and welcome suggestions for change.

549 Hobbies to Try: The Ultimate List of Hobbies

I reorganized the listings into a more concise 2 page jpg format. Computer work is one of this person's "hobbies" as a result of my hi tech career. I copied the webpage into an Excel file and with Notepad formatted the info. Then did a screen capture, I imported into Photoshop to fit on 8.5x11 standard sheets.

Hopefully this may provide some ideas for we seniors. What are some of the below you at least sometimes participate in, how often, and at what levels?

The actual jpg's are quite clear though our SF image upload quality is mediocre due to compression. Please view the following links for better quality including an ability to upload.

It is a quirky list, but I like it. Lots of relatively uncommon things, including a couple I had to look up. I thought noodling would be making homemade pasta, but it is actually a type of fishing.

I have had hobbies that didn't make the big list. No list could contain every hobby, so I don't feel slighted.

Collecting is almost infinite. You could collect almost anything and all of those would be separate hobbies.

Lots of hobbies are so broad that they could be thought of as separate hobbies. For example, is reading fiction and reading non-fiction two different hobbies? Would reading about history and reading about oceanography be two separate hobbies.

Sewing is broad. Some people specialize in clothing. Some might specialize in stuffed animals. Others might specialize in purses or totebags. If you made your own clothes and made stuffed animals, is that two hobbies or one?

I suppose it doesn't matter how they are classified. I enjoy hobbies that are broad because there are so many options. I enjoy reading. I feel like I will never get tires of it because there are so many different types of things to read. If I get tired of one type of fiction or one type of non-fiction, I can just try another one.

Fixed 3 OP link mistakes.

Yes, as noted the linked list was not just hobbies as it is more a list of possible non-career non-work activities. The term avocation fits well for my Photography that is more than a hobby. Numbers of other items like " would be better termed "leisure activities" or "sports" than hobbies.
