This year I’ve been lucky enough to get invited to see some of the worlds best jazz players and it’s been totally thrilling. Last week I saw The North.

The North Jazz Quartet won a Juno for jazz album of the year in 2018 and was also nominated in 2019.
These multi Juno award winners are Mike Murley - Canadian saxophone player, David Braid - Canadian piano player , Anders Mogansen - drummer from Denmark and Finnish bassist Johnny Aman.

I’d seen Mike Murley earlier this year in Toronto playing with some of my school mates in another band I once played in and it was really fun.

Here are some of the students I went to school with.

Here are a few songs they did if anyone is interested.

Some Other Spring

Mike plays tenor saxophone that’s approximately 50 years old and a curved soprano.

Here are some pics from that concert

The musicians are not only famous but very personable. They let me get my picture taken with everyone of them.

Yes I had front row seats. It might not be your cup of tea but I was raised with jazz lovers. With my brother playing trumpet, my other brother playing trombone , me playing saxophone and my dad playing piano , we had our own jazz band. The novelty carried on. It’s not my favourite musical genre, but I do have an appreciation for it.

If not, I hope you enjoy the photos at least
