Living Near a Tunica Casino for Cheap!

My name is Kenny. I live near the casinos in Tunica, Mississippi, and we have lived here for 8 years! It is a great place to live or vacation on the Mississippi Delta with the Mississippi River a short distance away! If you enjoy traveling and Casinos...it is a great place to stop...Check it out the next time you are in the area.:)

 

We drove down there and spent a few days gambling and sightseeing about 8 or 10 years ago. It was a pretty good trip, and we spent the better part of 1 day checking out Memphis and Elvis Presley's house. It's almost a necessity to have a car to travel between the casinos, as they stretch along the riverfront for quite a distance.

The one "negative" thing I noticed was the bars on the windows of so many of the businesses in town....even the McDonalds.
 
You're right about the need for transportation...The casinos are a little spread out into small groups..... Fitzgerald's stands alone, Hollywood, The Resorts & Sam's Town are in one group while The Horseshoe, Roadhouse Casino and Gold Strike are in another group very near Balley's. My house in a few minutes away from the Horseshoe. Memphis, which is a large city with a need for bars on businesses is not too close...it is 15 miles north. Here in Tunica Resorts, we are a rural environment with the beauty and scenery of the Mississippi River, The Delta and tons of plantation ranches and farms. It is a pretty cool contrast to the big city Casinos and there is a more friendly, personal demeanor from the casinos here!
 

We've been visiting the casinos for years....Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Blackhawk Colorado, Laughlin, NV., and the one trip to Tunica. We've enjoyed them all...win or lose. One day, we decided to find the Isle of Capri, down there, and that was quite a distance from the rest of the casinos. Anymore, we stay pretty close to home...we hit the casinos in Kansas City on our monthly trips to visit the kids/grankids, and we have a real nice "rural" IOC just 30 miles north of us, and we generally go up there about once a month. We have so many comps built up that about once a year we cash some in and book a flight to Las Vegas, but anymore I kind of like the more local places.
