I got the movie last year - which was declared "Historically Accurate." Elizabeth Montgomery & Fritz Weaver were spectacular. Lizzie was rather meticulous & clever; by wearing nothing during the murders, she left no evidence on her clothes. And she washed up between the first & second murders.
The movie hinted at the motive. Lizzie's father was abusive & a pervert who molested his daughter & his new wife convinced him to leave all his money to her.

Seems strange too me that in those 'crime scene' photos of both the stepmom & the dad, ........ that there is no blood spatter ? Nothing on the walls or the couch/bed. I mean looking at the skulls, she just destroyed them ...... and no spatter ?

According to two books I've read, one concluded that she was indeed innocent (as the court found her) and the other that she was guilty. Furthermore, it was also concluded that she was a lesbian and offered credible evidence for that accusation.
