Looking delicious!

Turn it into a true Vietnamese rice bowl salad (Bun Bo Xao) by putting coarsely chopped romaine lettuce leaves on the bottom. We like to use leftover steak slices in it. Leftover roast chicken or Chinese BBQ pork is good, too. Cilantro, basil, or mint can be added, if you have the fresh leaves.

Agree, one of the best summer dishes! At the Vietnamese restaurants you can get a couple of the fried cha gio (Vietnamese version of egg rolls, but using the thinner, crispier rice paper for wrapping) alongside - yum 😋 😋 😋
 
DIL is part japenese on her fathers side. Grandpa married a japenese girl during the war. DIL grew up with Japanese foods. She has shared that with my son and our family. Took me into a whole new world of foods. Just proof if we have the chance to experience other cultures food we should dive right in!!
 
I do not know what you are talking about. She is a Japanese/America. No other blood lines. I kind of find what you said as offfensive. Would you like to explain yourself?
