I hope to find good information that helps me with my issues. I am type 2 diabetic, looking for some diet tips. I also struggle with depression and anxiety. I hope to get some good coping suggestions.

Hi @RedSky4u , nice to have you join us! I don't have type 2 diabetes, but those in my immediate family do and I am at risk. So far, since my blood sugar has gone up over the years but have not yet been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, I'm just being proactive on my own. I take supplements like Bitter Melon and Chromium Picolinate, try and cut back on sweets and carbs compared to years ago, and get some exercise daily, even if just a long walk with my dog. Be well!

Welcome from Toronto, RedSky. I have fairly recently been diagnosed as Type II diabetic. Along with tips from my doctor, and the good people of this forum, I am doing very well. I do take meds for it. I take meds for depression (it took several tries to find the right combination).

Thank you for your response. I have not found a medication to help me. I have tried several, which is not an easy process. If you don't mind me asking, which medication works for you?

I responded in another thread that you may or may not have seen.
10 mg of Cipralex (Escitalopram) works for me. That's twice the dosage I was taking for awhile. It's still fairly low.

I'm in one of the same boats you are in and some others here. I take daily meds for depression. This is a great place for support. Hope you find what you're in need from here. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Tip: When you think negative thoughts twice...change the thinking to something wonderful and "uplifting"...eliminate the welcometothegroupcup.gifpoisons.
