Hi from Mississippi. Looking to move to Wyoming. Love dry, cold climates and outdoor activities. Too hot here. Anyone live in Wyoming? If so, where and would love to hear what you like and do not like about it. Thanks!

Hi Criddybug! We've been to Wyoming in the past camping, beautiful country, wouldn't mind living there at all, but not crazy about the wind.

I have a cousin who has a big ranch in Wyoming...and they Love it. It can get a bit harsh in the Winter, but they are used to it, and prepare accordingly. They are located about 30 miles SE of Cody, WY., just a short drive from the eastern edge of Yellowstone. I went up there a few years ago, and Elk hunted with him, and it was a really nice time. About the only drawback I can think of is if Yellowstone ever erupts again....but then, that area would be quickly consumed, and not have to endure the lingering chaos that the rest of the nation would probably experience.

Wyoming is great no state tax, beautiful mountains, I personally would choose any part other than east of Evanston to Laramie and north to Casper. My choice would be the Star Valley area, Afton. Near the Tetons & Yellowstone. Star Valley was not named for it's shape rather than the experiences of a group of Mormons sent by Brigham Young to settle the valley and they near starved to death the first year. They called it Starvation Valley. The Wyoming tourist industry decided it wasn't an appropriate name to generate interest and renamed it Star Valley.

I like that version more than what is the accepted tale.
