Loose Change Riddle

Okay folks, here is the solve.
Keep in mind I make the riddles up that I post, and I try to keep them fair, however, it wasn't until after I posted the riddle that I realized our nickels are different than nickels in the USofA (and other countries).
R: Why did the store cashier have such a hard time counting nickels at the time of sale?
A: Because the cashier couldn't make heads or tails out of them.
