Los Angeles 2024 Olympic Bid Includes $1700 Ticket Prices For The Opening Ceremonies

I hate to see what the security bill/budget is for the games especially with the venues being spread out. Personally I really don't want the games. I lived in cities with big high profile events and it was inconvenience to say the least. Nor did I or fellow citizen see any of the so called benefit/s.

To top it off Olympic ticket sales have been tanking. I think at one point half way through the games in Brazil still had millions of unsold seats/tickets. The TV networks should be paying for the games since they benefit the most. It's like a building a stadium for one of the millionaire sports team owners but in the case of the Olympics it's basically a stage for the tv networks.

When we're watching a big game on TV with the stadium/arena PACKED with fans,

I think: When the game is over, all those people have to drive home....sometimes late at night.

That's why I watch on TV in my recliner; safe @ home.

I don't how NFL fans tolerate the night games in the winter. And the last sporting event I went to years ago was at least an hour waiting to get out of the parking lot. After we got to the car/15 minute walk from the stadium, not seats.

My guess LA is hoping to attract an upper class tourists judging by ticket prices. They said the lower profile events in smaller venue might be as little as 24$ but the Olympics are 2 weeks and your favorite sport might last a week. Throw in the cost of big city living and normal price increases local businesses seem to feel entitled to during high profile events any city in the US could break the tourist.
