Lost American, with 350 pounds of pot and bags of money, arrested at the Canadian side of Niagara Falls

He had a GPS system, but he put in wrong information and ended up in the line for entry to Canada. He had no US passport so he was sent into the secondary inspection building, where the drugs and the money were found in his car. He was arrested by the Canadian Border Services Agency, and turned over to the Niagara Falls RCMP officers. He was denied bail, and is in jail awaiting a trial. link. I wonder where he thought he was going ? JimB.

Drug smuggler gets caught! Good job

Probably using his own product.
The vehicle had a number of hidden spaces, and he had about a half a million dollars in US cash in the car. This guy is going to be spending a few years as a guest of the Canadian Prison system. The cash will be seized, and upon conviction in court , it will go to CBSA and the RCMP for enforcement cases. The pot will eventually be burned in a drug incinerator , after he is convicted in court. JimB.

My late husband was not fond of RCMP and called it Canada's secret police, or something of that nature. He never held Canada up as being as free as the U.S. and that is why he moved here. Of course, at that time, Canada had no written Constitution, another detail he was not fond of. Also didn't like how a Brit would move in and be considered first in line for everything over native Canadians. He loved Canada, though, truly did.

Yep, now more or less legal on both sides of the border. I guess the quantity got him in trouble? That and a lack of sense...
Crossing the International border between the USA and Canada, ANY illegal drugs are going to be seized, and the person prosecuted. Personal use amounts in Canada are legal ( less than 30 grams ) , but when the weight is 300 or so pounds, that is going to be a court trial in Canada. The USBP sees it this way.....It may be legal in some US States, but bringing it into the States will result in an arrest and prosecution by Homeland Security. JImB.

Toting around 300 or so pounds of pot isn't legal anywhere in the US. You can have enough on hand to meet your "prescribed needs," no more. It's something like 3 plants per person or 4 to 6 plants per acre, and that varies slightly from state to state.

That is what happens so many in the business of distributing drugs also use them and the stupid shines through....

Now he won't get to use his new just polished this morning monzo humungo bong. Where he was going to of course use the above 300 pounds over the next month or two... himself of course...well mostly...with a few friends at times. Well maybe a little also needed for our neighbor's happy milk cow. (Hey the dog loves it too.)

Hooray for Dudley Doright and Sgt. Preston of the Yukon, and also Terrance and Phillip from South Park! They are the only representatives of Canada most Americans know… 😄
