I was watching a Telemundo reality series Caso Cerrado. "Case Closed" a court series similar to Judge Judy but deals with topics that would never be on Judge Judys show.
The case is about a woman that committed fraud, and destroyed a relationship.
In Mexico a man from the Dominican Republic met a woman from Columbia South America. The crossed the border illegally & decided to stay together. They somehow got a two bedroom apartment, but really couldn't afford the rent. The man agreed with the woman to rent out the spare bedroom.
Unknown to the man she advertised the room as a vacation B&B. Also unknown to the man she advertised on social media that she was a medical consultant that could help people in all the south American countries to get medical help in America. All they had to do was get a visa to visit America on vacation & pay her $10,000.00 to stay at her B&B. She would take care of their medical problems. She did. She took them to the emergency room of hospitals where their problems were taken care of. The cost to the taxpayer for all the various emergencies was in excess of 2 million dollars. She got $10,000.00 the people went back to their home countries without paying anything.
The man was suing her for part of the money she got from her "business".
The surprise ending is they were both arrested. Since he didn't know about her scheme he will be deported. She faces criminal charges, jail time & deportation afterwards.
